About me
Hello, my name is Camilla Stoddart. I am a certified sleep coach and insomnia therapist and I set up Sleep Matters to help people struggling with insomnia to find a bespoke solution for their sleep problems. I used to be a cookery book editor and food writer, working with celebrity chefs such as Heston Blumenthal, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay, but a period of insomnia in my thirties triggered a total career change. I was fortunate enough to meet an excellent sleep therapist at that difficult time who helped me get past my own sleep issues and inadvertently helped me find my vocation – helping others overcome insomnia to sleep and feel better every day.
I have a master’s degree in Psychology from Edinburgh University and I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) at the NHS’s only dedicated insomnia clinic in the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (UCH). I have further qualifications in CBT-I from Sleep Unlimited and The Sleep Coach School and in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) from Mindfulness Training Ltd in London.
While many insomnia clinics and on-line programmes have a one-size-fits-all philosophy that treats the insomnia rather than the insomniac, my own approach is highly individualised, taking the most effective elements of CBT-I and ACT and creating a bespoke prescription that will tackle your sleep problems for good.
